Concrete Marshmallow

Feature Film
Concrete Marshmallow centers around Mara (a yoga teacher), who outwardly has it all, but internally, she’s melting with toxic dysfunction. Struggling with PTSD, increasing trauma spirals, and at serious risk of losing it all, Mara’s journey ultimately calls on her to choose an act of radical self-acceptance.
Written and to be directed by Jessica, she first began developing Concrete Marshmallow in Stowe Story Labs Feature Campus ‘22 with David Pope, and the Stowe Story Labs Fall Retreat ‘23. She was selected for the Women In the Directors Chair Story and Leadership Program ‘24 (working with mentors Dr. Carol Whiteman, Sherry White, and Dr. Jules Koostachin) with CM and a quarter-finalist in the Vail Film Festival Screenplay Contest. Her short film “Sara” was made as a proof of concept for Concrete Marshmallow which won the HollyShorts FF Women in Film Screenplay Contest and after a successful festival run is now streaming on CBC Gem, Prime Video, and received global distribution with 7 Palms Entertainment.
Concrete Marshmallow is in development with Ashleigh Rains of C’mon Mort Productions.
